From Breakdowns to Breakthroughs: Conveyor Efficiency
Buzzi Unicem USA faced frequent conveyor roller failures at the Maryneal, Texas plant, which threatened plant safety and disrupted operational flow. These recurrent issues not only hindered production but also required extensive, risky repair operations. After installing the Iris CM™ and the RDI Service team conducting weekly remote data analysis, within a week, it was discovered that a roller was missing. Buzzi Unicem USA was able to schedule downtime for the maintenance. This footage shows the before and after.

The foreward movement of the vertical holder of the turbine happen when one of the blades rotates downward then the backward movement of the vertical part while the blade rotates from bottom to upward.

I think the bolted base is not tightened enough or the concrete base disk is not steady.
This is a great application for SPOT. Very difficult for a human to do this type of inspection on an ongoing basis.
I wonder if this can be used to identify oncoming earthquakes. Maybe there's some imperceptible motion that occurs before we feel the ground shake

Regular lighting has a strobe effect, there should be some 60Hz flicker in the video, was it removed in post?
They don’t have to remove it. The software has a slider so that you can selectively amplify specific frequencies. You adjust the slider until you see motion, and that tells you the frequency of the vibration. If, as in this example, the motion is occurring at 11.2 hz, then you can rule out flickering of the lights as being an issue. Its a pretty fascinating technology. It can even isolate and identify precisely the plane of rotational dislocation and plot the motion in space.
